Forgotten Island

After a lifetime of searching, two friends find themselves on the mythical island of Nakali, with only one problem: they cannot remember how they got there or what happened to them. With the help of an island guide, they retrace their steps and relive their childhood.
A beautiful animated story about friendship and growing up. The story blends the ever-changing nature of relationships, growing up, and Filipino culture and mythology. It blends comedy, action, drama, and suspense, making this animated movie suitable for older children and pre-teens. The one-hour-and-forty-nine-minute runtime starts fairly standard and slow for a coming-of-age story, then shifts into a colorful, fun adventure through a mythical island. Definitely worth seeing in theaters with older kids.
