Street Fighter

Six years after the first World Warrior Tournament, a second tournament is held for nefarious purposes. It unites the world's best fighters and draws the former champion out of hiding, bringing all past beefs and drama to the forefront.

This video game adaptation reboot can go either way. The story has potential, but campiness and corniness bury it. It has far more dialogue than action, and the action is unbelievable and over-CGI'd. The movie does stay true to the game's classic elements and gives fans what they want. Between that, the story, and the lack of action, whether you like the movie will be purely subjective and depend on the individual viewer. All of this makes the one-hour-and-fifty-nine-minute runtime feel long, like you're waiting for something epic to happen. Not worth a ticket, maybe worth streaming, but a squandered opportunity to make something great.
