After surviving an F5 tornado, Kate abandons her passion for storm chasing. Years later, a friend from her past shows up and convinces her that she is still needed and can make a difference. While storm chasers have changed, Kate's instincts on storm patterns have not, and the race is on to collect data and find a better way of protecting people from dangerous tornados.

This sequel can be viewed as either worth watching or not. The story needs more substance and is very predictable, leaving much to be desired. The movie feels that long, at 2 hours and 2 minutes, with parts that could be completely cut out. The storm scenes are intense and captivating, similar to the first one. There is little to no reference to the first movie, which is unfortunate for fans. Still, it could have also made this movie a standalone natural disaster movie. This movie is a fun, mindless, suspend-the-laws-of-nature watch, but it might be worth more of a stream than a ticket.
