A narcissistic, full-of-himself 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain travels to a small beach town after failing to secure a writing fellowship. Spiraling and lost, he ends up working in a kitchen to survive and discovers the power of food.
A snapshot biopic of the summer that changed the course of Anthony Bourdain's life. The story focuses on the moment life humbles the headstrong, arrogant young man and makes him the world-renowned chef and author. The one-hour, forty-six-minute runtime is a bit slow and frustrating, since this is not the ideal image fans may have of Anthony Bourdain. Fans will enjoy this origin story and may see a side of him they did not know existed.
