After the death of his partner, Charle is bereaved with grief and isolates himself from the world. Years of using food as his outlet for his suffering, emotions, and depression have finally caught up with him, and he faces the end of his life. With limited time left, Charlie decides to delve into his past and attempt to make amends and face his ghosts before he goes.
A movie that takes place over a single week and in one singular setting, this movie is thought-provoking. Despite having a limited number of characters and a simple environment, the film does a great job telling the story of Charlie and giving the audience insight into his torment. The film shows the audience how someone with a binge-eating disorder may use food as a coping mechanism. The movie is long and develops slowly, but it is satisfying. If you are looking for a career comeback movie, a thought-provoking movie, an award-winning movie, or something different, this is a must-watch.
