After Troy falls and the Trojan War ends, Odysseus and his men begin their long journey home. Meanwhile, Ithaca has been left without a king for decades, and political unrest has grown.
This film adapts Homer's epic The Odyssey—the story of Odysseus' return home. The film does an outstanding job interpreting the text and translating it into dialogue and visuals that viewers can understand and engage with. The story is told from two characters' viewpoints and progresses chronologically for the majority of the time. It has action, mythology, and classic Greek elements. The two-hour, fifty-two-minute runtime follows Odysseus as he travels the unknown and discovers his fate. Definitely worth a watch in a high-end theater to truly appreciate it.
