The Little Mermaid

Ariel has always dreamed of going to the surface and learning about humans. Her father, King Triton. has hated the surface world ever since the loss of his wife and Ariel's mother at the hands of a human. Ariel saves a young prince when his ship is wrecked and decides she will become a part of the surface world, no matter the cost.

The live-action remake of the 80's Disney classic. This film does make some changes to the original story, which adds some depth to the main two characters. There are a couple of new songs, and the original songs are also there to sing along with. The visuals are good and bad, with breathtaking shots of the oceans and shores and some rushed CGI scenes. The movie is just different enough to engage long-time fans and similar enough to take those same fans down a walk on memory lane. If you were a fan of the original and if you are a parent, this is a great movie to share and create a childhood memory with them.
