Barry Allen, aka The Flash, a member of the Justice League, is still struggling to figure out where he fits in with the team and in the world. The trauma of losing his mother and his father's imprisonment makes him socially awkward and withdrawn. Emotionally distraught, Barry lets loose and runs as fast as he can, entering a realm where he can travel through time. With this newfound power, Barry takes the opportunity to fix his past in hopes of a better present and, in doing so, wreaks havoc on the space-time continuum.
The latest film in the DCEU and the first one for The Flash, and it has a lot going on. This movie is less of an origin story and more of a sequel to the Justice League. The film glazes over how Barry Allen becomes The Flash and focuses more on the multiverse and time-traveling. The CGI is questionable throughout the film. There are a lot of cameos, which could be good or bad depending on the purpose. The movie is long and can drag at some parts. Suppose you are a fan of the DCEU. In that case, this film does not build off previous films nor gives you any points to build off for the future. With the studio's restructuring, there is little hope of the earlier films being part of the new universe. For all others, this film is a fun film to watch with some one-liners, action, and fan-favorite characters. Ultimately, it might be a movie worth a stream at home.
