A group of friends finally reunite to celebrate Juneteenth a decade after graduating college. They plan to party in a cabin in the woods and play games while reliving their glory days. When the rest of the group arrives, they start the festivities waiting on the hosts. Strange things happen in the cabin, and they discover a game room. Inside the game room, they find a racist game called "The Blackening" and are forced into playing by a masked man to save their friend's life and potentially their own.

What is supposed to be a horror slasher film is more of a satirical comedy with some suspenseful parts. The story is relatively basic, someone is out to kill the characters, and they must figure out a way to survive. Unlike the typical Hollywood horror slasher film, the characters are black and African American, so who is supposed to be killed first? This movie mixes Black and African American culture into a classic genre, making the typical story arcs satirical while adding a fresh take on the genre. The film is short, sweet, and to the point. It is worth a watch at home for a couple of good laughs, a few make-you-jump moments, and a fresh take on a classic genre.
