When an unknown creature makes landfall in Japan and wreaks havoc on Tokoyo, the government and democratic process kick into action to deal with it. As the departments work through strategies, plans, research, consultation, and bureaucratic red tape, they do what is best for the country and its citizens to stop Godzilla.
This Godzilla movie has a classic feel compared to its Hollywood counterparts. The story focuses more on Japan and its citizens, and the origin of Godzilla. The Godzilla animation and destruction are what make this movie similar to the classics. The two-hour runtime can drag a bit with the bureaucratic dialogue. Still, it is worth it to understand the true meaning and purpose of Godzilla. For fans of Godzilla, this is a must-watch.
