When stars suddenly start dying across the universe, Earth sends a school teacher to investigate a lone surviving star. With the help of his alien counterpart, they set out to save both of their planets.
This movie is an intergalactic buddy adventure. The story has layers looking into humanity, sacrifice, science, and connection. Given its setting in deep space, the visuals are impressive, with every opportunity taken to make it otherworldly. The science is sound for the most part, taking into account the laws of space and time and maintaining consistency. The two-hour and thirty-six-minute runtime is a bit long, with some parts of the movie moving at a snail's pace while others move at lightspeed. The visuals and the story make it worth a watch, especially for space and sci-fi fans.
