Isabel Wilkerson is a Pulitzer-winning author who is embarking on a journey to write her next book after the tragic and unjust murder of Trayvon Martin. The central thesis of her new book is exploring what truly separates people and what is beyond racism. She travels the world collecting stories and reading the history of other groups that have faced unjust treatment and oppression, the Jews of Nazi Germany and the Dalits of India.

The film is heavy and compares the history of different groups to find a commonality. The movie has emotional and hard-to-watch historical re-enactments. The movie runs for over two hours, but it moves along quickly. This is a great film, especially with the world's divisive climate. Watch it as soon as possible, either in a local theater or when available to stream.
