A flash flood separates Mufasa from his family. While floating down the river, Taka saves Mufasa. Adopted into Taka's pride, and the two become brothers. When a pride of outsiders comes into their territory, Mufasa and Taka must flee to protect the royal bloodline. On the run, Mufasa and Taka look for the promised land that Mufasa's parents spoke of in the hope of starting a new life.

This movie is the origin story of many iconic Disney characters and a setting many have grown up with. The story expands on each character from the original Lion King. The songs in this movie are not as catchy as the classics, but that may be a matter of opinion. The visuals are captivating and fun, from animal interactions and movements to the changing landscapes. This movie is an excellent introduction for the new generation while being enjoyable to the past ones.
