The fight against the Earth Federation, led by Hathaway Noa, continues, with the resistance's next target being Adelaide's government conference.

This sequel requires prior knowledge to be fully appreciated. The story does have a bit of a recap, but it picks up where the first one leaves off. In classic Gundam fashion, the story is mostly political with a few mech battles peppered in. The animation is different, with the Gundams looking more CGI or 3D than drawn. The one hour and forty-eight minute runtime is long and boring without prior knowledge. Fans of this series or those with extensive knowledge of Gundam will enjoy this installment, but watching it on its own is confusing and not enjoyable.
