Li Fong's mother forces him to move from Beijing to New York, hoping the distance will keep him safe from Kung Fu. While acclimating to his new home, he makes a friend and just as quickly makes an enemy of the local Karate champion. With the help of his old master and new Sensei, Li Fong participates in the 5 Burroughs karate tournament in hopes of confronting his past and living in the present.

This latest installment of the Karate Kid franchise bridges the original movies and the reboot. The story is unique compared to the other movies. The action sequences are entertaining, some having classic Jackie Chan moments. The runtime of one hour and thirty-four minutes goes by in the blink of an eye. Fans of the classic will enjoy this movie.
