Orion Pax feels he is meant for something more than being a miner, while his best friend, D-16, tries to follow the rules and conform to the hierarchy. When one of Orion's schemes gets the attention of their leader, Sentinal Prime, things get complicated. In hopes of further impressing him, they chase down a lead on the surface and ultimately discover something that forever changes their lives and relationships.

This movie is the origin story of the Transformers, what happened on their home planet, the formation of the Autobots and the Decepticons, and how Optimus Prime and Megatron became nemesis. The story progresses quickly and is entertaining. Comedy is throughout, and the action is great for an animated movie. The movie might be for older children because of mild language, violence, and heavy subject matter. This is an excellent film to bridge the gap that all the animated series and movies have left out and a great introduction for the next generation of Transformer fans.
