George Foreman grew up in a rough part of Housten, Texas, and while he did not possess many talents, he had a knack for getting into fights. No matter how hard he tried, his temper seemed to always get in his way until he discovered the sport of boxing. Quickly rising through the ranks to become Heavyweight Champion of the World, he came crashing back down just as fast. The loss is heavy on his mind and heart; George continues to fight until a near-death experience turns him down the path of Jesus Christ. Being a preacher goes well until Geroge discovers all his money is gone, and his church and youth center is on the verge of being lost. Exhausting all his options, Geroge turns to the one thing he excelled at, boxing. He feels his destiny is to become the Heavyweight Champion of the World again.
A biopic of the famous boxer and grill man, Geroge Foremen. The movie is broken into two major parts, his boxing and preaching careers. The boxing portions progress quickly and are captivating, showing all George had to overcome to achieve his goals and how his achievements changed his life. Like other boxing movies, there is the training montage and the actual fights. The preacher portion was slower and more focused on his discovery of Jesus and spirituality. The religious part of the movie has a different feel than the boxing portion. The film is a good length, and the change in tone and feel makes the movie feel longer than it is. This film is worth a watch when available to stream if you are a fan of George Foreman or boxing and are comfortable with the Christain aspect of the film.
