After helping the Avengers save the world and restore half of the universe's population, Scott Lang is satisfied with playing it safe. He enjoys making up for lost time with his daughter, Cassie Lang, supporting his philanthropic girlfriend, Hope Van Dyne, and becoming an author. While Scott might be happy with his situation, the rest of his family still needs to explore the unknown world of the Quantum realm. Working on a project behind his back, Cassie and Hope create a device that allows them to explore the Quantum realm safely. While demonstrating the machine to Scott, something unexpected happens. The entire family is sucked into the Quantum realm, discovering firsthand what is truly down there.
The latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this installment, just like its predecessors, is a mixed bag of reactions. The movie's positives are its fantastic visuals, solid action, a mixture of comedy and drama, and some minor references to other characters and films from the universe. The film does not give the viewers much of what is happening in the rest of the universe or a glimpse of what is to come, which is what the audience is craving. The movie is not as lighthearted as the first two and takes a darker tone, which is a refreshing change for this franchise. The film is a good length and moves along quickly, which makes it easy and fun to watch. If you are a fan of the MCU and have committed to keeping up with it, this movie is a must-watch for what is to come.
