Two strangers cross New York City after extraterrestrials crash land through the city. As they navigate the destroyed city, they learn about the aliens and adapt to survive. Samira only has a little time left and wants to do some things before it ends, while Eric wants to survive and live, and neither one can make a sound.

This movie is a letdown for being a prequel to the highly successful franchise. The story is relatively run-of-the-mill, with aliens invading Earth and a major city, New York City, being the primary focus. There are not many suspenseful or scary moments, and the ones in the movie are predictable. Fortunately, the movie does not have a long runtime, but it feels long. There are no significant ties or backstories to the first two movies. This movie is worth a stream for completion's sake, if not skipped altogether.
